[ War Torn :: 2001-10-08 ]

warplanes fly
in the eastern skies
the world is changing before our eyes
every day

an email from devalier ranting
bono feels blown by the wind
nothing changes, nothing new
everything stays the same

noone answers
the movie theatre phone
i'm with her, yet i feel so alone
its a crazy world

it keeps on turning
and we keep on living
every day the same
and yet still spinning

memories and stories
of turbulent times
and wartime love affairs
as Bush justifies on TV

in this crazy same-change world
i've somehow learned to love again
to write again - it was you who taught me
you who resurrected me

now i'm so alone
and the world feels so cold
and all i want is to be with you
sheltered from the rain
