| [ Orion Looks Down :: 2002-01-13

The two pitched a tent there together neath the most brilliant of starry night skies The crash of the waves on the seashore muffling the lovers' soft cries and Orion, he smiles down upon them his star-studded belt shining bright then winking at beautiful Venus asks her if she's free for the night He slams down the phone in indignance a swift end to the argument the loud echo leaving behind it such a terrible sense of regret and Orion, he looks down upon it with a sad smile in the deep starry night a witness to love's great disasters and the boy who just can't get it right He stumbles across her old diary recorded some two years ago those words screaming louder than conscience shout out what he's been needing to know and Orion, he looks down upon him with his trademark nod and a wink saying Son, I've been trying to tell you that its you that's the problem, I think If you're ever in love with a woman so deeply insanely in love keep her as your life's gleaming treasure and may Orion smile down on you from above and when Orion looks on you and your lady from the infinite starry night sky may you remind him of beautiful Venus as once did my Lover and I |
