We gather again
as in previous years
to make warm the cold of winter
through merrymaking cheer

the longest night
has come and gone
and the days now lengthen
with the birth of the sun

celebrated by all
cultures, colours, and races
irrespective of times,
of religions, of places

to bring forth the new sun
and to greet the New Year
with our friends - every one
