The train clatters on and I rock lazily with it. I open my eyes and turn to find a beautiful girl staring straight at me. Her expression is that of a deer - entranced, and yet at once afraid of all the unknowns which are me I avert my gaze and return to my can coffee, feeling nothing, no sense of attraction as I would have a year ago. Dead to love then moved but by animal lust for any fine body. Now resurrected, there is only one. The invitation of a friend with two serious girls and three for play bounces off my deaf ears. I am dead to it. I can see nothing, I can feel nothing but the heart of one so heart-warming close, so frustrating-far away. |
