[ I Laughed :: 2002-02-22 ]

I laughed today
for the first time in a week
Things were all so bleak,
I was full of dismay.

I laughed today
as I landed there,
thrown somehow up and through the air
by an old man smiling away.

I hit the mat
my body shocked
my heart's pain somehow came unlocked
by all of that.

I laughed out loud
the master's skill a strange release
in dark despair a glint of peace
he smiled and bowed

a glowing light
a strength anew
a hope of somehow getting through
life's darkest night

I laughed today
my body's back
to getting me on solid track
I'll be ok
