[ Yeah, I'm Okay :: 2002-02-20 ]

You ask if I'm ok
but I fear the answer
will depress you,
	drive you away

do you really want to hear
how my heart aches
every single moment
	of every single day

shall I go ahead and relate
how the spring in my step
has been replaced by lead
	what should I say

should I tell you how I miss you,
need you, yearn to see you
I'd go at the drop of a hat
	I'd leave today

is the feeling of
being stretched upon this
torture rack of just-friendship
what you want me to say

when asked the question
I falter
and reply
	Yes, I'm ok.
