| [ The Crimson Six :: 2002-01-01

The merry band assembled, in response to the urgent call. Surrounded by ferns and natures perfumes, they gathered under the open sky. None of them expected the Order, swift as it came from across the sea, though all had dreamt of the day when they might be chosen to carry out what was to be their life mission. All heads craned forward to catch the news, each straining to hear the sound of his name being called. At last they were chosen, carefully selected one by one, bound together in the greenery, thorny personalities at once vying with and complimenting each other. Red-faced as they were with the urgency of their charge, the annals would later christen them The Crimson Six. The messenger troupe assembled to receive their task, the solemnity of their charge impressed heavily upon them. It was, it would turn out to be, a mission of self-sacrifice, for they would expend themselves on behalf of another. And so they departed, those six heads carried high and proud, together bearing a message of love from across the Ocean. Each held inside the realization that he had been born for this task, that this would be his finest hour. Arriving at last at their destination, the Six wait with anxious anticipation for the Recipient to receive them. Their hushed whispers are suddenly stilled with Her appearance, struck with a fairness fair greater than their own brightly blushing faces. Presented to Her they stand, straight as they can - at once sturdy and delicate, they present their charge as planned. The message itself is brief - a few short lines - yet echoes more than they can express with their blushing lips alone, deeper than the fragrance of their rose-scented cologne. For The Crimson Six were chosen not as simple couriers to relay a message only, but to offer their very selves as well, their vibrant lives expended as expressions of Love. |
