[ Elevator :: 2007-03-22 ]

walking down the hall in front of me
approaching the elevator in the lobby
clack, clack, clack of your heels on the tile
does your face wear a frown or a smile

i walk down the hall a few meters behind
a return from lunch break to the daily grind
with a pull the glass door lets you in
and then closes to meet its twin

a few more steps and i reach the same door
as you cast a glance back over your right shoulder
before looking up to see the elevator light
and then stepping nonchalantly out of sight

i saw that look back over your shoulder at me
but you made to pretend that you didn't see
that there was only 2 meters between me and the door
and now the elevator's on the second floor

bitch
